Titan Missile Museum and Kartchner Caverns SP

Headed down to Sahaurito AZ and the Titan Missile Museum. The last remaining ICBM launch site (out of 54) maintained pretty much as it was during its 20 years of active service. Fascinating place. They have some very extensive tours, but I didn’t get myself scheduled correctly to go on any of them. (First and third Saturdays and members-only by reservation only) but still a worthwhile tour. Our guide actually served here in this silo.

Then over the Kartchner Caverns State Park. They’ve done an incredible amount of work trying to preserve this cave system while still allowing the public to see it. Highly recommended, even though they don’t let you take any pictures.

Pictures are here.

Travel day tomorrow, heading up into the mountains north of Tucson.
